Cahuita National Park
Cahuita National Park was created to protect the 780 acre coral reef.
Entrance:The best entrance to the park is from Cahuita town where a voluntary admission fee goes to the locals!! At the Puerto Vargas entrance the admission charge is USD6.
Best swimming beach: A few hundred meters inside the park is either side of the Lazy River- Rio Perezoso. At Puerto Vargas at the southern end of the park is a beautiful white sand beach with good snorkeling.
The money colected at the park does not go back to the locals directly. It goes to them in the form of jobs working to keep the maintain the park
