This month we've done a guide to the town of La Fortuna, home to the Arenal Volcano.
If you would like to add your advice or comments, please do.
We always use Anywhere Costa Rica for hotels, tours and transfers.
great post, I was in Costa Rica in 1989 on a surf trip and I remember it very fondly. In fact when I was leaving it was the only place I actuall shed a tear at the airport. I want to plan another trip to Costa Rica in August to the Tamarindo area. Any advice.

Hi,
I enjoyed reading your proffessional guide to Arenal and La fortuna. I agree that one of the best tours from Fortuna is to Cano Negro Reserve.
I been in a nice hotel in Arenal called Arenal volcano inn. I had a good time there, the staff was polite and it has a great view to the volcano.
Second is Lands in love located close to La Fortuna a cloud forest hotel that has Great atmosphere, very friendly people and great food.
There are a lot of activities in the hotel area – Canopy, adventure cables, canyoning, 5 different trails to the jungle all very exciting with good and proffessional guides.
At the blog you mentioned eco termales and tabacon I stayed at Baldi and had a great experience there.

Costa Rican weather can be unpredictable - and varied - but you can count on some general trends. It makes more enjoying the weather of Rincon de la Vieja.
