Quepos Costa Rica

What to do & see in Quepos

  • Manuel Antonio is one of the most popular National Parks in Costa Rica located right next door to its most popular beach resort. What you can see: Howler monkeys are common, Capuchin- White Faced Monkeys , iguanas, toucans and scarlett macaws as well as numerous birds. About 350 squirrel monkeys live in the park, another 500 on its outer boundaries. It is illegal to feed the monkeys. Its not their natural diet, so you're poisining them! If you’re caught, you may be ejected from the park.
  • The best beaches inside the Park are Espadilla Sur, Playa Manuel Antonio- the prettiest-, Escondido, and Playita.
  • The entrance to the Park is at the eastern end of Playa Espadilla, where you wade across the shallow Río Camaronera.

The park is open 7 a.m.–4 p.m. Closed Monday.  The $7 admission is payable at the ranger station

Camping is not allowed in the park.

  • Visit the Rainmaker Conservation Project ,  540-hectare private reserve near the village of Pocares. The main draw is a treetop trail formed by 6 suspension bridges slung between trees to form a 250-meter aerial walkway through the rainforest canopy. More  bridges lead you through a river canyon, with  pools for bathing. There is also the Damas Caves to explore by horseback.
